Kenneth Webster

October 30, 1948 — July 31, 2019

While surrounded by family, Kenneth W. Webster went to join the Lord on July 31, 2019 in New Braunfels, TX, after a very short battle with cancer.  He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Toni and their son Alex; his son Kenneth (Angela); his son Matt and grandchildren Talia, Quinn and Emilee; and his brothers David and Max. He is preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Louise Webster.

He was born October 30, 1948 in Alexandria, Louisiana.  After retirement from his 22-year career in the United States Air Force, where he served in both the enlisted and officer corps, Kenneth pursued many professional passions.  However, he chose to retire 5 years ago to enjoy his most rewarding profession—that of a full-time dad, chauffeur, mentor, and committed community volunteer as Canyon Middle School PTA President, an integral member of the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students), Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and the Friends of Garden Ridge Library.

Ken’s interests were many: auto racing, motorcycle riding with his brothers, traveling, reading, and annual family South Padre beach trips. Ken was a fabulous cook and loved hosting gatherings to try out his newest culinary finds. His accomplishments include receiving his MBA from the University of Southern Mississippi, earning his private pilot’s license, attaining his certification as a National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence Master Technician, and successfully operating his own business. He was a talented ultra-runner accomplishing ten 100-milers, more than 40 ultra-marathons, and innumerable marathons and shorter distance races, to include his favorite, the Crescent City Classic.

He will be remembered for his love of family, steadfast support to his friends in any circumstance, kindness and generosity to those in need, and for his open and willing heart.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2019, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, August 19, 2019, 9:30am, at Triumphant Lutheran Church in Garden Ridge, Texas followed by a procession to the interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation or the Grace Hospice Foundation .
