Charles Wilson

November 19, 1935 — June 10, 2021

Charles Mahler Wilson of San Antonio, Texas entered into eternal rest on June 10, 2021.  Born on November 19, 1935 in Des Moines, IA to Thomas Wayne and Miriam (Mahler) Wilson, Charles grew up in Iowa, New York and finally Cincinnati, Ohio.  Upon graduating from Miami University he spent two years in the Army before starting his professional career with Proctor and Gamble.  On August 22, 1964 he married the love of his life, Therese Ann Dumbacher.  He converted to Catholicism in 1966 and began a life long journey of serving Christ.  After living in California he settled in Texas where he and Therese raised their two children.  He worked as a sales executive in the printing and packaging industry until he founded The Saint Joseph Foundation in 1984 to protect the rights of Catholics within the Church.  He received his Masters of Theology from the Oblate School of Theology in 1991.  He remained the Executive Director of The Saint Joseph Foundation until his retirement in 2015.

Charles was an avid reader and had a wide knowledge base on a variety of subjects.  He enjoyed cooking and traveling and had a great sense of humor he liked to share while telling a story.  A man of strong faith, he put God first in his life and lived accordingly.

He is survived by his loving wife Therese, daughter Mary (Rob) Wilson Reynolds, son Robert Wilson and five grandchildren - Michael Parrish, Courtney Wilson, Adam Wilson, Matthew Wilson and James Wilson.  He also leaves behind a great granddaughter, Autumn Parrish.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Thomas Wilson.

A private funeral Mass will be held for family members. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Saint Joseph Foundation, 85882 Water Works Rd. Hopedale, OH 43976.
