Aaron Friesenhahn

Aaron Ernest Friesenhahn, born January 26, 1962 in New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on July 11, 2021. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Junek Friesenhahn; daughter Angela (fiancé Michael Martin); parents Clifford and Marlene Friesenhahn; sisters Gerlyn Friesenhahn (Mark Long), Colette (Alan) Albers; brothers Kevan (Denise) Friesenhahn, Blaine (Mandee) Friesenhahn; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Aaron graduated from Texas A&M University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Aaron began working At Kelly Air Force Base as an Aerospace Engineer, re-engineering parts for aircraft engines. There, he eventually became lead engineer for the TF-34 jet engine which is used in the A10 Thunderbolt aircraft and multiple Air Force helicopters. He also worked as a crash site investigator to help determine the cause of crashes with aircraft that used that engine. Upon closure of Kelly Air Force Base, Aaron was employed by Science Applications International Corporation and continued to work as a contractor for the United States Air Force, providing support until he retired.

Aaron enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, gardening, cooking, arrowhead hunting, and woodworking. Aaron took pride and strived for perfection in everything he did. Aaron was a jack of all trades. There was no task that he could not handle. Aaron’s greatest joy was found at the ranch located near Freer, Texas.

Aaron was a life member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where he received his baptism, first Holy Communion, confirmation, and marriage. He was a member of St. Michael’s Society and Bracken Bowling Club.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:30PM on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, Texas. The Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00AM on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, Texas. Burial will take place at Our Lady of Catholic Church Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Mass. Celebration of Life will be held at Blue Bonnet Palace, 17630 Lookout Rd, Selma, Texas immediately after burial – serving will begin at 12:45PM.
