Sharon Harris

November 18, 1942 — November 6, 2022

Sharon Lee Harris, born November 18, 1942, went to meet the Lord on November 6, 2022, after fighting the good fight against cancer for nearly 11 months.

Born and raised in Haubstadt, Indiana, she met her late husband of 52 years, Michael Harris who served as an Air Force officer. They were married on May 23, 1964 and were able to share the joy of having three children together, and Sharon, Michael, Michelle and Mark moved all around the country for 25 years before finally settling in San Antonio. While cherishing her most important job of being a mother, Sharon also worked as a third-grade teacher, then later as a real estate agent. She supported her husband throughout his career and in their retirement, they were able to take many wonderful trips together visiting Alaska, Ireland, Germany, England, and Italy, along with enjoying several cruises. After Michael’s passing in 2016, she went on many trips with her friends and church groups to several cities throughout the U.S. and was able to visit Ireland and Alaska again.

In her free time, Sharon loved playing cards with her church group, her favorite game being ‘hand and foot’. She, of course, enjoyed winning, but sharing stories with her friends and having fellowship were her greatest rewards.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Michael Harris, her son Jeffery Harris, her parents Frank and Juanitta Ziliak, her brother Steve Ziliak, and her sister Jeannine Deckard.

Sharon leaves behind two children, Michelle (Sean) Harkins, Mark (Kimberly) Harris, along with her five grandchildren, Elyssa Harkins, Emily Harkins, Evan Harkins, Dylan Harris, and Ryder Harris. She also has many friends whom she loved and cherished who are left to remember the joy she brought to their lives.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Sharon's name to Our Lady of Perpetual Help St. Vincent De Paul in 16075 N Evans Road in Selma, TX.
