Rhonda Elaine Mayberry

December 27, 1962 ~ September 12, 2022 (age 59)

Obituary

Rhonda Elaine (Cable) Mayberry, age 59 of Schertz, TX passed away peacefully on Monday, September 12th.

Rhonda was born on December 27th, 1962, in San Diego, CA to Twila Mae (Dowler) and Ronald Eugene Cable. Rhonda and her brother, Ronald Jr., grew up as Navy brats moving from base to base finally settling in Jacksonville FL, where she met her husband, Charles (Randy) Mayberry, married for over 42 years.

Rhonda graduated from Edward White High School, Jacksonville FL, in 1980. She would take classes while Randy was working or off to college. She specialized in Massage Therapy once he retired, owning a small shop in Rolling Oak Mall for a while. Her best occupation was being a mother, better known as a “Domestic Engineer.” She was a good-hearted, forgiving, loving and caring person. She was so supportive of her family and thoughtful of others, caring for her mother for over 18 years. Taking care of children was very natural for her from a very young age.

The Air Force life had her relocating from FL to AZ to KS to NY to AR, and all the way to TX, moving 12 times in 20 years. Texas is where she settled since ’97 in a beautiful home for over 25 years. Adventures included motorcycle trips, from camping overnight behind the San Diego Zoo to riding with the Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA). From Hawaii to Mexico to Alaska, Rhonda and Randy had many exciting adventures together over the years.

Bunco was one of her favorite ways to spend time with friends. That and sharing delicious food or getting her nails done. Some of her favorite artists span from country music like Gary Allen to the classic 70’s music like the band Bread.

She is survived by many friends and family including her husband Randy, her daughters Miranda and Carson, grandchildren Quinton, Olivia and Ezra and her brother Ronald Cable Jr.

A Memorial Service for Rhonda will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11:00 AM.
