Ramona (Mona) G. Garcia

Ramona (Mona) Garcia age 95 went to be with our Lord on May 7, 2023.

She was born in Parrita, Texas on February 1, 1928 and passed peacefully at her home in Schertz, Texas.

Ramona is preceded in death by her beloved husband Nicolas Garcia Jr., her parents Francisco and Ester Gutierrez, her brother David (Lydia) Gutierrez, her nephew Rene Gutierrez, and her sister Herminia G. Arreola.

She is survived by her children Linda (Mario) Castaneda, Eva (Robin) Martinez, Nicolas Garcia III (partner Oralia Ortiz); grandchildren Alissa Jacoby (Jesse) Nicole (Daniel) Medina, Nick IV (Isabella) Garcia. Great grandchildren, Clarissa and Caleb Jacoby, Aden, Penelope and Evelyn Medina, Alessandra and Mila Garcia, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.

Ramona (Mona) loved spending with her family during the holidays, attending church with her sister every Saturday at Good Shepherd Church. She was an avid animal lover, and never missed her games shows, Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune.

We would like to extend our gratitude and thank the staff of Freedom Hospice for the care, love and support they provided for our mom.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the Church of Good Shepherd in her honor.

There will be a Visitation held for Mona at Schertz Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held the following day on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 11:30 AM, with a funeral procession to Selma #2 Cemetery for the Graveside Service following the Mass.
