Margarito Alcala, Jr.

July 31, 1951 — May 2, 2022

Margarito “Mike” “Chubs” Alcala Jr. lived a long, happy life and died peacefully on May 2, 2022, at the age of 70, with his daughters Veronica Alcala and Siboney Alcala by his side. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Chubs came out as a hero, stayed strong until the end, and surrendered his life to Christ.

Mike is survived by his wife Susana Manrique “Rosie” Alcala; his sons Margarito “Mikeo” Alcala III, Christopher “Chris” Alcala, and Jaycee Alcala; his daughters Veronica Alcala and Siboney Alcala; His grandkids Alexander “Zan” Alcala, Nikolas “Nik” Alcala, Alexus “Girlie” Casas, Mike “Mikey” Alcala, Isaiah “Izzo” Alcala, Mia Alcala, Vincent “Vinny” Alcala, Chance Alcala, Ariceli “Ari” Alcala, Justin Gonzales, Nathan Alcala, Ethan Alcala; Great Grandkids Mason Alcala, Liam Alcala, Avery Casas, Riley Casas, Addileia Gonzalez. His siblings Janie Alcala, Ernest Alcala, Michael “Mike” Watson, and Margarita “Margie” Perez. He’s finally joined in heaven with his Mother Sofia “Sofie” Agueros and Father Margarito “Jake” Alcala.

If you asked a hundred people who Margarito “Mike” “Chubs” Alcala Jr. was, they’d all give you a different story. The hardest worker, Mr. Fix-it, Tile LEGEND, A superhero, The baddest man on the planet, An American soldier (military Trained) - Vietnam Veteran, Lottery winner, A Kentucky salesman, Outdoor fanatic, Famous Comedian, Story Teller, Party Animal, Dancing King, Biggest heart, or The spark to any situation.

Chubs was most of these things, or perhaps all of them in their eyes. What he always was, was life to any party. From the time he was young he was full of charisma. It didn’t matter if he was trying to entertain his friends and family or trying to distract his brothers and sisters from their life situations. No matter the occasion, Chubs was the story. He left his mark on each person he encountered, and they immediately became friends. It is this trait that has led all of us to love Margarito “Mike” “Chubs” Alcala Jr. and we celebrate his journey to the next part of his story. Until we meet again!
