Major (Ret.) Robert Clark

Major (Ret.) Robert Dale Clark of New Braunfels, Texas went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 7th, 2023, at 76 years of age.

Robert was born in Hastings, Nebraska on August 26, 1946, to Herbert George and Amelia Walker Clark, and was their only son.

He graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1966. He was honored to receive an ROTC Military Excellence Award while attending HSHS.

Robert continued on to serve his country by joining the US Army in October of 1966. He served as a rifleman in the Republic of Vietnam during wartime.

Post Vietnam duty, Robert attended Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska. Hegraduated with a Bachelor of Science an August 3rd, 1979.

His military career continued, as an officer, attaining the rank of Major. His field of work culminated as a Medical Materials Procurement Officer, attached to the Academy of Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He retired in 1992.

Robert's awards include: Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Sharpshooter Qualification Badge (M-16), Sharpshooter Qualification Badge (M-14), Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and an Army Good Combat Medal.

Robert returned to the Republic of Vietnam to teach English. He met Miss Jenny Pham in 2009 and the two were married February 14th of 2009. While still in Vietnam, their first son Austin was born January 1st, 2010. Upon coming to the United States, they settled in New Braunfels, Texas in 2012. Their son Cody joined the family October 11, 2013.

Robert loved building and repairing items, working on cars, and owning guns. Most of all, he loved his wife and his boys!

Major Robert Clark is survived by his beloved wife, Jenny P. Clark, and his most-loved sons, Austin and Cody Clark, and favorite friend, Mrs. Carrie Itschner.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert G. and Amelia W. Clark of Hastings, Nebraska.

A Visitation for Robert will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
