Lawrence Gladu

March 19, 1936 — April 3, 2023

Lawrence W. Gladu, "Larry", age 87, of Cibolo, Tx went to be with our Lord on April 3, 2023.

Larry was born in Worcester, Mass in 1936. He was the only child to parents Walter H. and Marion Gladu. He joined the US Airforce just before he turned 18. He was the youngest member of the Aeronautics team while he was in the Air Force. He then attended Northrop Institute of Technology on his GI Bill. While attending Northrop, Larry met and married his wife Judith (Judy). They enjoyed an almost 50-year marriage that ended with Judy's passing.

Larry enjoyed a long, fulfilling career as an Aerospace Engineer. Throughout his whole career he was a part of many space programs, including helping to launch some of The United States' first space satellites. He was also on the Space Shuttle and Titan teams.

Larry was very strong in his faith and was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a 4th degree, becoming Grand Knight in the various chapters he belonged to. He took great pride in being a part of the membership drives and mentoring young members as he got older.

Larry also coached Little League football throughout his life, starting with being the coach for his sons' teams. As they got older, his sons would eventually coach alongside him.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Judith Lorraine Gladu (Judy) as well as his parents Walter H. and Marion Gladu.
He is survived by his children Vincent Gladu (Lecia), Michael Gladu (Leslie), Phillip Gladu (Nancy), Anne Gladu-Clark, Victor Gladu, David Gladu (Amy), and Anthony "Tony" Gladu (Jill). Larry is also survived by his grandchildren Derrick, Logan, Vincent, Brian, Jovina "Jojo," Nicole, Michael Jr., Casandra, Heather, Renee, Caryl, Hope, Phillip Jr., Faith, Samantha, Jared, Arianna, Stephanie, Rachel, and Judith Elizabeth "Judy." Larry was blessed to be a great-grandfather to Daniel, Elizabeth, Annalisa, Jacob, Judith Mary "Judy," Amina, and Evelyn.

Larry was loved dearly by many and will be missed greatly.
