Joyce Pierce, loving wife, mother, grand and great grandmother, went to be with the Lord, January 8, 2023. Joyce was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 2, 1933. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1950. She married Fred Pierce on July 20, 1952. They enjoyed 53 wonderful years together, raising 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Joyce enjoyed dancing, playing golf, and being with family on every occasion. Being a military wife, Joyce experienced living all over the world in a 26 year span, including Japan, Germany, and many states in the US. She also attained a realtor license and helped many people find the home of their dreams. Joyce loved her family dearly, and found no greater joy than spending time celebrating life events with them. After she retired, Joyce did not slow down, she continued to spend time with friends playing bridge, traveling, playing golf, and cutting a rug on the dance floor with the Silver Singles. Joyce created a legacy of love for all who knew her, none more than her own family. Future generations will benefit greatly from her example of what a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother truly are. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Ret. Colonel Fred Pierce USAF, her sister Patsy Lozo, and her two brothers Butch and David Rochelle. She is survived by her 4 children, David Pierce and wife Carol of Melbourne, FL, son Louis Pierce, son Steve Pierce and wife Lorena, and daughter Michelle Slate and husband Steve, all from the San Antonio area.
