Joseph Cleboski

September 27, 1961 — March 7, 2023

Joseph Edward Cleboski of Cibolo, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the age of 61. He was born on September 27, 1961 in Houston, Texas to parents Frank John Cleboski and Myrtle Cleboski.

Joe graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas. He then went to Texas A&M University to obtain his degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science, and it is also where he joined the Corp of Cadets and went on to get his commission in 1983 to the rank of Butter Bar.

Joe then moved to Ft. Knox, KY, where he met Angela on a blind date, and were later married at the Main Post Chapel. They headed to Germany where they joined the 2nd ACR, had their two boys, and Joe deployed to the Gulf War. He had his 1st tank command with the 2nd ACR and his second was with the 2/32 in Kirch Goens, Germany. Joe received a Bronze Star during his deployment in the Gulf War (which he said he never deserved).

The family left Germany after two tours and headed back to the States, where Joe began working at the Pentagon. He continued working at the Pentagon for many years, until the 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon, of which he was a fortunate survivor.

From the Pentagon, Joe went back to school and received his Masters in Business from National Louis University. They headed back to Germany for another 5 years where Joe eventually retired in 2012 and started his much-loved Civil Service job. From Germany they went to Hawaii and then finally settled in Texas.

Joe loved his wife Angela, their sons Frankie and Chris, and their dogs, but his first love was hunting and fishing. September 1st was his favorite day of the year. OPENING DOVE SEASON DAY. Outside of Joe’s love of hunting and fishing were his AGGIES. He was a child of Christ, and he loved being a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He loved football, skeet shooting, and his fishing trips with his beloved Cobra I guys.

Joe is preceded in death by his father, Frank John Cleboski, and his son, Frank Joseph Cleboski.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Angela Cleboski, his son Christopher Scott Cleboski, his mother Myrtle Cleboski, his seven brothers and sisters; Theresa, Jude, Matt, Jeffery, Aline, Bernard, and Mary, his fifteen nieces and nephews, and his two Goddaughters; Kasey and Catherine Cleboski.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Tunnel 2 Towers, to help support those affected by the 9/11 attacks. Donate Now - Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org)
