Josefina Ramirez

October 10, 1935 — April 5, 2022

Josefina R. Ramirez, 86, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on April 5, 2022. She entered this world on October 10, 1935 in Taylor, Texas, born to Antonio and Beatriz Rodriguez. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ramon Ramirez; her parents; sisters Maria Trevino, Petra Elizalde, and brothers, Ramiro and Julio Rodriguez. She is survived by sisters, Gregoria Trevino, Paulita Gallegos, brother Dionicio Rodriguez, and twin brother, Francisco Rodriguez; her daughter, Anna and her husband, LTC(R) Rick Coronado of Saint Hedwig, Texas; and son Rene Ramirez and his wife, Cindy of Schertz, Texas; six grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. The memory of this beautiful lady will endure forever. She was known for her elegance and kind demeanor towards everyone she met. Her perspective on life was one of thanksgiving, joy, sharing, and love, particularly towards nieces, nephews, and friends. Her love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Catholic her whole life, her faith and trust in The Lord, never wavered. A fun, loving, spirited individual, even into the early stages of dementia, she maintained that perspective on life. She will be sorely missed by those who knew her. A viewing will be held on May 3, 2022 at 5:00 PM with The Rosary at 7:00 PM at Schertz Funeral Home in Schertz, Texas. Funeral Mass will follow on May 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM, at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig, followed by internment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
