Dante Banes

October 23, 1996 — September 10, 2022

Staff Sergeant Dante R. Banes, 25, beloved Husband, Son, & Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on September 10, 2022. He entered this world on October 23, 1996 in San Antonio, TX, born to Rodney and Wahkeitha Banes. Dante served in the Air Force from September 20, 2016 to September 10, 2022.

Dante's beautiful smile would light up a room and his laugh was so super contagious.  He never met a stranger, had a heart of gold and was so full of energy.  Dante loved his family more than life itself and always shared and expressed his love. His beautiful bride Sabrina stole his heart at the age of 17, and when they were together, you could see the sparkle in their eyes in the love they shared.  Dante was always up for an adventure and he and his brother always entertained his momma's crazy ideas and they never complained. He loved to travel, try new foods and see so many different places.  Dante loved to play sports and his two favorites were  football and soccer. He truly excelled as a leader on and off the field.  Not only was he athletic but incredibly intelligent. Dante realized he wanted to follow in his mom and dads footsteps and joined the United States Air Force to serve with PRIDE.  He lived the Air Force Core Values and was the epitome of Excellence in All We Do before he signed the dotted line.  Dante was the Airman every supervisor dreamed of.  He excelled at everything he did, at the same time keeping everyone laughing and on their toes, being his genuine self.  He loved all of his friends (his boi's) and was always down for a good time.  Dante lived his best life with no regrets.  He truly changed the lives of so many and will always be remembered for being soooo AH-MAZING!  Rest in Heaven Tae Tae Fro, Buddy, Kiddo, Brother, Bubba One, Mi Amor, till we meet again! WE LOVE YOU!

He is survived by his father MSgt (Ret) Rodney Banes; mother CMSgt (Ret) Wahkeitha Banes; spouse Sabrina Banes; brother Sekai Banes; sister Rylan Banes; grandmother Deloris Garner; grandfather CW4 (Ret) Claude Garner; grandmother Judith Banes-Austin; grandfather MSgt (Ret) Reginald Banes Sr, aunties, uncles, cousins, and countless family and friends.
