Ashley Tidwell

December 11, 1985 — November 10, 2022

Ashley was born in Port Arthur, Texas on December 11, 1985, to Thomas and Nancy (Woods) Tidwell. Ashley had two children… Tristan (age 14) and Isabella (age 12). Ashley is survived by her sister, Jenny “Gi Gi” Tidwell, and Aunt Sharon (Tidwell) Burrough, Aunt Carrie (Woods) Bailey and Uncle Skip Bailey; Uncle Joe Tidwell; Aunt Donna Marie (Woods) Benjamin and Uncle Don Paul Benjamin; and many cousins and friends. For the past many years, she lived with Gary Felty, who Ashley acclaimed was the “love of her life”.

Ashley was preceded in death by her grandparents Walter “Woody” Woods and Elsa (Ahrens) Woods; and, Rodger Lee Tidwell, Jr., and Dorothy (Dixon) Tidwell; and Uncle Jim Burrough, Aunt Angel (Kitchen) Tidwell, Aunt Linda (Decker) Tidwell; and her Uncle Jimmy “Apple Jam” Tidwell.

After living in the Beaumont, Texas area while her father served in the U.S. Air Force as a Recruiting Supervisor, the Tidwell family moved to Schertz, Texas in 1990. Ashley attended Schertz Elementary School, Dobie Intermediate School, Corbet Junior High School, and she graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in May 2004. Ashley sang in the Clemens High School Choir for several years.

As a child, Ashley loved Eeyore, the lovable little donkey from Winnie the Pooh. Ashley loved to sing, and she surprised her family during an elementary school choir performance by singing a solo. We were totally awed at her voice. Ashley enjoyed riding her bike through the Savannah Square subdivision, having family dance parties in the living room, and spending time with Molly, our family dog. She especially liked eating gyro’s at Papoulis’s with her sister “Gi Gi”.

Ashley was married and divorced twice, but spent the last 10 years with her boyfriend/fiancé Gary Felty. In fact, they celebrated their 10th anniversary together on September 23, 2022.

The family is not planning on having a memorial service at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) of Central Texas at https://www.casacentex.org in Memory of Ashley Tidwell. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
