Alma Rothrock

February 5, 1931 ~ April 6, 2023 (age 92) 92 Years Old


Our dear mother, Alma Rothrock, passed away April 06, 2023 in New Braunfels,  TX. Alma Rothrock was born Alma Georgina Scarff on Feb 5, 1931, to parents of Alma and Ernest Scarff in Glascow Scotland. She moved with her mother to Nottingham, England, where she met her husband Harley (Rocky) Rothrock, who was stationed there from the US Air Force. Alma and Rocky married in 1952 and spent 70 wonderful years together and recently had celebrated their Platinum Wedding Anniversary.  Together, they traveled to Pittsburgh, PA, San Francisco,  CA, Taipei, Taiwan, and Enid, Oklahoma, having Gary Duane, Martin Keith,  Steven Craig, and Tracy Lianne. Together, they all traveled to Panama for a 4 year tour there. Eventually, moving to San Antonio, TX, making their home in Schertz, TX. Alma lived a full life working at the Sheraton Hotel and later the Hyatt in downtown  San Antonio Riverwalk. She also enjoyed the company of many friends whom I remember coming and having a cup of coffee in our home. In later years she enjoyed Line dancing with her friends as well.

She is survived by her children, Gary,  Marty, and Tracy. She also had 5 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. She is preceded in death by her husband Rocky, her son, Steven, and her great-granddaughter Noriah.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Schertz Civic Center - Building 5, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. There will be a Graveside Service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1:30 PM
