Zadie Oelkers, age 70 of Lufkin, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2009. Zadie is survived by her loving sons, William Oelkers, Robert Oelkers & wife, Letha of Seguin Texas; daughter, Cynthia Vaughan & husband, Dewayne of Davidsonville, Maryland; sister, Mary Ann Shoemaker of Irving Texas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend and companion Roger Pue of Seguin Texas. A Chapel Service will be held at 12:00 PM, March 30, 2009 at Holy Cross Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to: Cancer Care National office, 275 7th Ave., New York, N.Y. 10001 in Zadies memory.
