Zachary Derksen

Our son, Zachary Walker Derksen, age 29 passed away. His precious soul ascended into Heaven on December 23, 2021. This brilliant, amazing, distinguished, hard-working, young man was born on April 8, 1992 at 1514, at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota.
His passion was video games like “Streets of Rage,” by Sega, played only by him and his “Pepa.” We believe his first word was “Sega!” He also played “Mortal Kombat” and knew all the fatality moves! (Go figure) He also played Nintendo games like, his favorite, Zelda. Other games he mastered were Donkey Kong, Pokemon, and.... wait for it...Mario Kart! He would play ANYONE, young and old, and beat us BADLY!! :-) Zachary was also a “smart-ass.” But hey, That's our boy and we loved him dearly!
Zachary never married and did not have any children. He is survived by his parents, Gary J. Derksen and Teresa L. Derksen, his sister Jade S. Phrachansiri, and his brother Christopher J. Derksen. Zachary has a grandmother, Ms. Eleanor A. Floyd “Mema,” many aunts, uncles, cousins galore that you have never met...yet. Upon entering pass the Gates of Heaven, you will be greeted, loved, hugged on, and a Legacy of Family on both sides.
Zachary? God called for you too soon, for it is NEVER Goodbye. It's ALWAYS I'll See You Later.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 12pm - 2pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
