William Thomas Harm, of Schertz, Texas, passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 89. He was born on August 3, 1936, in New Haven, Michigan, to Herman and Marie Harm.
William graduated from high school in June 1954 and proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force on September 16, 1954. He faithfully served his country for over 25 years before retiring from the Air Force on October 1, 1979. Following his military retirement, William continued his dedicated service as a civilian employee with the U.S. Army Medical Command, where he worked from August 1986 until February 1, 1999. William married Nancy Cischke on January 29, 1955. Together they raised five children: Thomas, Timothy, Richard, Catherine, and Daniel, all of whom reside in Texas. He was also the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
William was deeply committed to youth and community service. He was a co-founder of the Tri-City Baseball League of Universal City, Texas, established in 1986, and previously helped found the Buffalo Valley Youth Association (BVYA) in Schertz, Texas, in August 1974. He served as president of BVYA for two years and generously volunteered as a coach for both the boys’ Pony League baseball team and the girls’ softball team. Under his leadership, the girls’ softball team won the South Region State Championship in 1984. In addition, William dedicated many years to the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a committee chairman and later as Scoutmaster from August 1986 until February 1975.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, with a Funeral Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
