Walter Woods

February 10, 1923 — May 12, 2008

Walter Warren Woody Woods, age 85 of San Antonio, passed away on May 12, 2008. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elsa Elizabeth Woods and his parents, Joseph and Lola Mae (Green) Woods. Warren is survived by his daughters, Carrie Bailey & husband, Skip, Nancy Tidwell & husband, Tommy, Donna Woods and Dana Woods; sisters, Ileene Stewart and Lorraine Albright; grandchildren, Jenny Tidwell, Ashley Tidwell, Carisa Phillips & husband, Earnest; great-grandchild, Tristan Tidwell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Warren proudly served his country during WWII in the Americal Division; Member of VFW Post 8541, loved the Gulf Coast and saltwater fishing, and played drums in the Kenny Fisher Trio. Visitation will be held 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM on Monday, May 19, 2008, at Schertz Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, May 19, 2008, at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: VFW Post 8541, Austin Hwy, San Antonio, & Fisher House, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio.
