Walter Myers

January 12, 1942 — July 28, 2020

CMSGT Walter "Red" Myers, USAF (Retired) was born on January 12, 1942, went to be with the lord on July 28, 2020 at the age of 78. Red proudly served in the USAF for 27 years. After his retirement in 1990, his strong work ethic lead him to continue in Civil Service for another 15 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Red enjoyed hobbies such as golf, softball and bowling. Through his time in the Air Force and with his hobbies, he made lifelong friends who have become family. Red is preceded in death by his mother, margaret; his brother, Bobby Myers and his grandson, A.J. Myers. His survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karen Myers; daughters, Tracy Sheppard and husband Dean, Kristina Myers-Engelke and husband Sherman; 4 grandchildren, Brittnie Ormsby, Hunter and Dakota Sheppard and great grandson, Taylor Ormsby; sisters, Peggy Ballentine and Janet Thomas. Red was loved and will be missed by so many.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 2:00PM-6:00PM with US Air Force Honors being conducted at 4:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
