Theresa Franckowiak

October 18, 1928 — February 22, 2022

Theresa Kotara Franckowiak went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2022.

She married Louis Franckowiak on October 20, 1947, Kosciusko, Texas. They purchased their home on the southside of San Antonio, becoming Life-Time members of St. Henry’s Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Theresa devoted the majority of her life doing Church work at St. Henry's as a member of the Altar Society, Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister. She also loved cooking for the priest and seminarians at St. Gerard's.

Theresa joined a Cake Decorating Club to enhance her natural talent for cake baking and decorating. She soon began decorating for family weddings, birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, etc. Word quickly got around of her beautiful work and she began getting calls from all over-primarily for weddings. Theresa received many awards for her decorating and gum paste flowers. She also loved to work in her flower garden.

A highlight of Theresa's life was when both mom and dad were invited to Pope John Paul's reception at Assumption Seminary. They were able to touch the hand of a Pope who later became a Saint.

Preceded in death by her Loving Husband of 55 years, her sixth son Terrence, and Grandchild Lorie Ann Thornton. Her parents Steve and Bertha Kotara, Brothers Alphonse Kotara, and Raymond Kotara and Sister Ann Medley. Brother-in-Laws Edward Kyrish, Albert Pruski, and Mel Medley.

Theresa is survived by her children Andrew (Theresa), Catherine, Carlton, Timothy (Vikki), Daniel (Susan), and Lawrence.
