Texana Allen Shuff

Texana Allen Shuff has gone to be with our Lord on July 31, 2025. She was 86.

A 1957 graduate of Balboa High School, she was the daughter of Walter Francis Allen (Renova, PA) and Margaret Hern Allen, (Panama City, R.P.) She was born at Santo Tomas Hospital in Panama City on March 2, 1939. Texana was a member of the Balboa Baptist church where she met Walter Decatur Shuff whom she loved dearly and was married to (1957) until his passing in 1993. They traveled the world with his military career until Walter's Army retirement when they returned to the Panama Canal Zone where they remained until 1986 when they moved to San Antonio Texas. Together they enjoyed listening to music, cooking and bowling and shared a lifetime of silly jokes and dancing in the living room. Texana had a great love for the simple things in life and really enjoyed having coffee and a piece of cake. She loved little birds, both real living or figurines and mermaids and costume jewelry. She and Walter had two children Fred and Myrna. Prior to becoming a mom Texana was employed as a stenographer and after her children were grown she was a Secretary at the Ft Gulick School of the Americas and later at Randolph AFB Texas. She was also employed briefly at the Coco Solo Commissary (Canal Zone).

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her two children Fred Evan Shuff (Bonni) and Myrna Yvonne Streeter (Geoffrey), four grandchildren, Jessica, Timothy, Samantha and Walter and six great grandchildren as well as her sisters Myrna, PJ, and Sherry and younger brother Edward (Rocky). She was predeceased by her brother Walter.

The family is having a private service and asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army in her name in lieu of flowers.
