Teresa Stecher

Teresa Ann Stecher, better known by all as Tracy, passed away on September 15, 2023 in a car accident at the young age of 55. In her 55 years, Tracy made her indelible mark on the world and in the hearts of all she met.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas to Paula and Don Cooper, Tracy grew up in Kingsville, Texas. Tracy was on the Varsity Tennis team from the 9th grade on and earned a scholarship to Texas A & I in Kingsville. She then transferred to the University of Texas in Austin.

Tracy was more lovingly known as the Princess, my little Pop-up picture book, my bossy little shrew and my baby girl.

Tracy was an airline attendant for United Airlines for 33 years.

Tracy loved her family, especially her son Matthew, her great State of Texas, her Dallas Cowboys and her county music, especially Willie Nelson and Miranda Lambert. Tracy was feisty, passionate, had a true heart of gold and was honest to a fault.

Tracy is survived by her husband James Stecher, her mother Paula Smith, her mother -in -law, Mary Stecher, sister-in law, Marie Stecher, her brother-in law, Patrick Stecher, her Aunt, Sue Oliveri, her Aunt and Uncle, James and Zada Cooper, cousin Lesley Barnes and family, and her adorable dogs, Tinky and Pepe’.

Tracy was predeceased by their son, Matthew H. Stecher, her father, Don Cooper, her step-father, Bill Smith,  and her father-in-law, James Stecher, Sr.

Tracy’s memorial service will be held at Schertz Funeral Home and Crematory, 2207 F.M. 3009, Schertz, TX on Wednesday, September 20th at 6PM. The family will welcome visitors from 5PM- 8PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Tracy’s name.
