Taeko Ramirez, born on December 6, 1936 in Tokyo, Japan, passed away on August 29, 2021, at her home in Schertz, TX. She is survived by her husband, Bob Ramirez; son, Bob Ramirez Jr. and wife Elaine; daughter, Yumi Lafortune and husband Todd; grandchildren, Daniel, Kimiko and Kaemon Ramirez, and Raiden and Kane Lafortune; two sisters, as well as several nieces and nephews in Japan.
Taeko and her husband of 50 years met in 1969 while working together at Yokota Air Base, Japan. She was a kind, caring, thoughtful, and generous wife, mother, and grandmother, and fiercely loved her family. Her greatest talent was sewing, but she also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, and watching sports. She took great pride supporting her children’s school sports and activities by cooking football team dinners, sewing cheerleader uniforms, and fulfilling the duties of a “Team Mom” for their youth sports teams. Known for always trying to help others, she supported numerous charitable organizations. Taeko was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all those that knew her.
Memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, September 4, 2021, 1:00pm, at the Schertz Funeral Home chapel.
