Steven Andrew Webster

Steven Andrew Webster, 82, of Schertz, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 7, 2024.

Steven was born in Bellevue, Pennsylvania on May 4, 1941 to Robert and Viola Erleba Webster. 

He joined the Army in 1958 and in 1961 he married Cynthia O'Connor. 

During his military career he served in Korea and two tours of Vietnam. After returning from overseas he worked at Ft. Sam Houston at the main hospital until he was medically retired. 

After retirement, Steven served his local chapter of Disabled American Veterans and he served nationally with Paralyzed Veterans of America. He also served his community by umpiring little league baseball and as a dispatcher for the Schertz Police Department. 

Steven was an avid reader, a skilled craftsman in woodworking and enjoyed fishing. He was a man of strong faith and enjoyed sharing his testimony and love of the scriptures, especially over a cup of coffee. 

Steven is survived by his daughter Cynthia and her husband Bruce, their children Brandan and Bailey, his daughter Laura and her children Ryan, Sarah, and Ava-Grace, his grandchildren Seth, Joshua and Amanda Webster, their spouses and families, his cousins Howard, Mary Kay, Jeri, Janet, and Karen. 

Steven was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Cynthia and his son Steven. 

Visitation will be at Schertz Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 11:00am to 12:00pm with a service to follow. A military service, with honors, will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00pm.

Murphy VA Medical Center in San Antonio and Ezequiel Carabajal with New Century Hospice.
