SMSgt. Ernest L. Banks, Jr., U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 66 of Schertz, passed away on February 27, 2008. He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell L. Banks and sister, Lois Hollis. Ernest is survived by his wife, Josephine Bland-Banks, Schertz; sons, Tony Banks & wife, Alice, Austin and Ernest L. Banks III & wife, Cecilia, San Antonio; daughter, Pamela Banks Watts, San Antonio; brother, Gilbert Banks & wife, Margaret, Georgia; grandchildren, James, Jonathin, Justin, Jordan, Wylyntray, Tyra, Aimee, Ernest IV, Derrilyn & Anthony; five step-children and eight step-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 2, 2008 (with a visitation being held one hour prior to the service) at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, with full military honors, will be held at 9:45 AM on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
