Shirley Mae Garman

Shirley Mae Garman, age 89, of Selma, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2026. She was born on May 27, 1936, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to Lucy Rosetta Miller (Heim).

Shirley was a graduate of Williamsport Area High School. She later married Edgar Lloyd Rothfuss Garman, Sr., and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work. Throughout her career, Shirley was employed by GTE Sylvania, Weldon's Acme, Walmart, and ABB Control. She was a proud member of the Order of the Amaranth and the Order of the Eastern Star. Her faith was an important part of her life. Shirley attended Church of the Savior during her years in Pennsylvania and, more recently, was a devoted member of Triumphant Lutheran Church in Garden Ridge, Texas.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edgar Lloyd Rothfuss Garman, Sr.; son Edgar Lloyd Rothfuss Garman, Jr, her grandson, Joshua; her mother, Lucy Rosetta Heim; stepfather, Herbert Heim; and her siblings, Beatrice Miller, Patricia Miller, Irene Hasson, Helen Welshans, and Linda Waugh. She is survived by her loving children, Tammie S. Jorge (Alberto), James M. Garman (Christine), and Shellie A. Garman; her cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Brooks, AJ, Amanda, Allie, Ayla, Joey, and Elliot; nine great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Sandy Leindecker and Terry Harvey (Dick).

The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00AM on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Triumphant Lutheran Church of Garden Ridge, Texas. A private Interment will take place at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
