She entered the world on March 11, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas. She was dedicated to her career and worked as a commercial underwriter for St.Paul Insurance in the 70's. During that time, Sharon was awarded the St.Paul President's Award for outstanding service. It was a real honor, with Sharon being flown to Minneapolis to be presented with the award. She was very proud of her accomplishments. St.Paul closed their office in the 80's when Sharon began working for USF&G Insurance Company; that office was also closed in the 90's. She took a job with Titan Insurance as a underwriter specializing in public entity insurance needs. In 1997, Titan was purchased by USF&G within one year USF&G was then purchased by St. Paul insurance. She loved to tell how her career came full circle. In 2004, St. Paul merged with travelers where she continued her public entity underwriting career until Spring of 2015, when she retired. She made many lasting relationships with those that she worked with and was loved by all. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Stella Kelton; paternal grandparents, Walter and Lora Martin; her parents, Walter Jack Martyn and Katherine Kelton Martyn; loving husband, James Keith Melville; daughters, Deborah M. Carr and Vikki L. Stover. She is survived by her sister Mickey Martyn Callender; grandchildren, Davind Kelton Carr, Kayla Renee Carr and Karen Shay Carr; step daughter, Lisa Preston; and numerous great grandbabies, nieces, nephews, as well as many other family members and friends. She has been a great influence on many people and will be greatly missed. Sharon had a passion for plants, animals, cooking, and NFL football.
