Ruby Hedwig Meek Biegert of Schertz, Texas passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026 at the age of 94. Ruby was born on June 13, 1931 in Cibolo, Texas to Tomy and Hedwig Haecker Meek. She was the youngest of four children and the only daughter.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Allan A Biegert, her son, Jiggs Biegert, her three brothers, Johnny Meek, Jimmy Meek, and Calvin Meek, son-in-law Bert Hyatt, and her father and mother-in-law Allan and Agnes Biegert.
Ruby grew up in a loving home and remained close to her parents and her brothers all their lives. She and Allan married in 1948 and began their life-long partnership in raising a family, managing a business, a farm and a ranch, and being the go-to person for so many. They traveled the road of marriage together, and Allan depended on Ruby for her rock-solid loyalty and unwavering love. Ruby made friendships in all the various jobs she had, particularly as a teller for many years at Schertz Bank and Trust. Anyone that knew her knew she was a tremendous cook, a talented seamstress and a valuable friend.
After her husband’s death, Ruby became a full-time volunteer at Autumn Winds Nursing Home in Schertz where she spent many hours greeting visitors, talking to residents, and answering the phone. She also was able to travel with her daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren, visiting Mexico, Hoover Dam, New Orleans, Hawaii, and Washington, DC, among other places. The highlight of those trips was undoubtedly when she went para-sailing in Mexico with her son-in-law, Bert.
Ruby Biegert is survived by her daughters Gail Hyatt of Schertz and Brenda and Jomel Prestage of Hondo; grandchildren Jason Hyatt (Monica) of Boerne, Lee Biegert (Jennifer) of LaVernia, Billy Hyatt (Amy) of Universal City, Stacy Sharron (Neal) of LaVernia, Breanne Granberg (Paul) of Lytle, and Kelly Vasquez (James) of Schertz, and daughter-in-law Debra Biegert of LaVernia. She will also be lovingly remembered by seven great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held February 16, 2026 at St Paul’s Church in Cibolo. Serving as pall bearers will be Jason Hyatt, Billy Hyatt, Chase Hyatt, Dylan Hyatt, Paul Granberg, and James Vasquez.
