Ruben Smith

Ruben Ricky Smith, 57, passed away on March 27, 2022 at his home in Schertz, Texas. He was born on April 17, 1964 in Tucson, Arizona to parents, Robert and Marion Smith.

Ruben was one of a kind. He was one of the most loving, caring and funniest individuals there ever was. His contagious smile was like no other and if you ever had the pleasure of meeting him, you know that to be true. For anyone who didn’t have the pleasure of meeting him, he had a positive impact to countless individuals. Ruben completed 33 years in the fire service was the best mentor, husband, father and brother anyone could ask for. Although he may have left us far too soon, his legacy will live on through each and every one of us for years to come.

Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marion Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Tina; daughters, Siarra Gutierrez & Matisyn Smith; son, Reid Smith; brothers, Don Smith with wife, Tonda, Ron Smith with wife Dina, Rodney Smith and wife Kathy and Michael Smith with wife Darla; sister, Pam Potter with husband James; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 3:00PM - 6:00PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will take place at 3:00PM on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Schertz. Immediately following the Funeral Service, there will be a Celebration of Life from 4:00PM - 8:00PM at Blue Bonnet Palace - 17630 Lookout Rd, Selma, TX 78154.
