Ronald Glazener

October 1, 1938 — October 6, 2021

Ronald Lee Glazener, age 83 of Schertz, TX went to meet his Lord and Savior on October 6, 2021. Ronald was born on October1, 1938 in Pampa, TX to the late Henry Clay and Billie Devoille Glazener. He was a graduate of Redondo High School in Redondo Beach, CA. On August 20, 1960 he married the love of his life Patricia (Pollock) at St. Gerard Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX following his service in the United States Air Force. He briefly worked at Southwestern Bell telephone company before embarking on a career in civil service at Kelly AFB for over 30 years. He also worked for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy, Texas Instruments, Region 20 ESC, and as a small business computer entrepreneur.

Ronald loved life and enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren in whatever pursuits they were involved. It was not uncommon for him to volunteer on School Boards, Athletic Associations, ACTS Retreats, OLPH Military Ministry, and many organizations his children participated within. Ronald knew no strangers as he had a genuine love of people. He always had a joke to tell and loved to laugh.  It was not uncommon for him to barbecue on a weekend and invite anyone who was interested to come on over and participate in a great meal. Holidays guaranteed that there was going to be a party at the Glazener Residence, and if a dance party broke out, he was one of the first to join in. He loved fishing and creating many memories with his family members seeking out that special spot with a school of fish lurking nearby. Often, he never put a line in the water because he was baiting hooks and trying to make sure his family was having a great time learning about an activity he loved. Ronald was interested in family history and ancestry and enjoyed helping his grandchildren study for tests, helping with homework and enjoyed chaperoning field trips. He also enjoyed traveling which usually involved his children and grandchildren’s athletic tournaments, stock shows or spending time at a beach or lake location with his beautiful bride by his side.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Henry Clay Glazener (Marge), Billie Dee Yurkovic (Joseph), and his brother Milton (Mike) Glazener. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Patricia Glazener of Schertz, TX, sons: Ronald Glazener, Jr. (Lois) of La Vernia, TX, David Glazener (Sabrina) of Schertz, TX, Matthew Glazener (Pamela) of Pearland, TX, daughter: Christie Glazener of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren: Lesley Marbach (Brett), Matthew Glazener (Jordan), Nichole Glazener, Hunter Glazener, Jacob Glazener, Kira Smitka (Dylan), and William Glazener; great-grandchildren: Ensley Marbach, and Brady Marbach. Also, numerous in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels, TX for their care and support of Ronald.
