Robert Worley

December 9, 1920 — April 15, 2008

Robert L. Worley, age 87 of San Antonio, Texas, passed away April 15, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Worley, brother, David S. Worley, Jr. and sister, Mary Jo Carlyle. Robert is survived by his sisters, Helen Beth Curry and Kathryn M. Saunders, both of Bowie, Texas; sister-in-law, Beverly Worley of Kerrville; son, Robert L. Worley, Jr. of San Antonio; and grandsons, Robert Worley III and Samuel Worley, both of San Antonio. Bob was a product of a tough generation that grew up through the Great Depression and the Second World War. He worked hard, played hard and lived life to the fullest. He liked card games, checkers, jokes, and story telling. Most of all he liked to visit with people. He will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM (with visitation being held one hour prior to the service) on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow, with military honors, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to any charity of choice.
