Robert Whealton

Robert Gary Whealton of Canyon Lake passed away on December 1, 2022 at the age of 78. He was born on August 14, 1944, to William Whealton and Alma Poppell in Savannah, Georgia.

Gary proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as an Air Traffic Controller. He was the owner of the Art Corner Art Gallery in Universal City until he retired in 2015.

Gary is survived by his wife Christy Niland, daughters Nicci Beaman (Keith) and Kristin Castro (Ben). He was a special Paw-Paw Whiskers to his four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and extended family. Gary is also survived by his brothers and their spouses; Wayne Whealton (Becky), Rick Whealton (Debi), Dean Poppell (Terry), Bruce Poppell (Shelia), and Mike Whealton and his sisters; Judy Curgian and Marilyn Vaughan.
