Robert Reid

A man who found solace among the trees, Robert Benjamin Reid followed his path home on January 11, 2021. Robbie called San Antonio home since his birth on September 4, 1978. Starting at a young age, Robbie developed a passion for military history and took pride in his father’s service in the Korean War. He also enjoyed watching and playing sports, but it was his lifelong love of animals and the outdoors that led him to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and Wildlife Management from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Though tougher than barbed wire at times, Robbie’s heart found joy at home with his girls. He and his wife, Melanie, were married August 11, 2012, and became “The Three Reid’s” when they welcomed their miracle of a daughter, Annelise Elaine, on January 8, 2014. Robbie delighted in time spent playing with Annelise. He enjoyed taking her hunting, camping, and looking at Christmas lights during the holiday season. Despite not being a coffee drinker himself, Robbie always made sure Melanie had a hot cup of coffee to start her day.
Preceded in death by his parents Jack and Barbara and his older brother Jack, Robbie will be missed by his siblings, Jeff and Barbara. In lieu of flowers, honor Robbie’s memory by carrying out the positives he brought to the world: play basketball with your kids, surprise your spouse with a sweet treat, enjoy some time in a state park, help out a person down on their luck, or make a donation to MacArthur Park Lutheran School. A private memorial service will be held to remember him.
