Robert Mcniel

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert (Bobby) Lee Declour McNiel announce that Bobby joined our Lord and Savior on Monday, May 10 ^th , 2021 with his family by his side at the age of 73.

Bobby was born on May 15 ^th , 1947 in Hartville, Missouri to his biological parents Cora and Lee Delcour. Shortly after his birth, Bobby was under the care of his Aunt & Uncle Erma and Emmett McNiel who officially became his parents and adopted him when he was fifteen. His father, Emmett, served in our nation’s military during World War II. As a son of the Army, Bobby moved around a lot to include living in Missouri, Colorado, overseas in France for a period of time, and settled in Texas. Bobby attended and graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1965 and went on to attend Blinn Junior College. On August 10 ^th , 1979 he married his wife and best friend Kathryn (Kathy) McNiel. They raised two children, Elise and Trenton in Live Oak, Texas.  Bobby worked and retired from Alamo Concrete after 30 years of employment.

Bobby had a passion for carpentry and hunting. He also loved to watch NASCAR and was a self-taught mechanic with small engine repair. He was known for his selflessness, willingness to help others in their time of need. He had an infectious smile and laugh that could be heard from across the room. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Bobby will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years Kathy, and their two children­−daughter Elise, her husband David and their children Cora, Annaliese, and Elisabeth; and son Trenton, his wife Autumn and their two children Keelan and Brayden; and Bobby’s daughter Lori, her husband Shane and their two children Emma (husband Nathan) and Zachary, and Lori’s son Britton (wife Katy); Bobby’s brother Ronald, his sister Michelle, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his Mother Erma, Father Emmett, birth parents Cora and Lee, his brothers Carl Delcour, Arthur Delcour and Lavone Declour, his sisters Florine Raney and Glenda McNiel.
