Richard Charles “Ricky” McGibeny Jr. passed away on August 13, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.

He is survived by his mother Bertha McGibeny and three younger siblings, Dionne Mata, Stacy DeLeon, and Randy McGibeny, his wife, Lilly McGibeny; his daughters, Robyn Havard and Raycheal McGibeny: his sons, BJ”Cobb. Brandon McGibeny, Jordan McGibeny, Mark Mains, and his six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, who all brought him immense joy.

Ricky was born April 25, 1968, in Calumet, Michigan to Richard Charles McGibeny Sr. and Bertha McGibeny. In 1991, he joined the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country through 7 tours over seas for 21 years before retiring in 2012.

A man of contrasts, Ricky was strong-willed and stubborn at times, yet capable of deep and unwavering love. One of his greatest joys was riding motorcycles and feeling the wind on open roads. We believe he’s now riding the perfect back road in heaven, with a fridge full of ice-cold Pepsi waiting for him. He also finally has the chance to meet and listen to the rock ’n’ roll legends who shaped the soundtrack of his life.

On August 13, 2025, Ricky reunited in heaven with his father, Richard Charles McGibeny Sr.

Ricky’s legacy will live on in the strength, humor, and resilience of his family. He will be remembered for his laughter, courage, and unwavering love for those closest to him.

A Committal Service for Ricky will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 10:15 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
