Rebecca Zapata

Rebecca Arriola Zapata (Becky) was born on June 21, 1957 and passed away on March 6, 2015, at the age of 57. Rebecca was a full time mother but was also very involved in her children's activities. She was a Scout Den mother for 6 years, a Boy Scout Committee Member for 9 years, a band mom, chaperone, and uniform assistant. Rebecca was also an elementary teacher's aide for both of her children and a volunteer elementary school reading tutor. She enjoyed cooking, baking, scrapbooking, and was an avid photographer. Rebecca is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Michael Madden Zapata; daughter, Denise Anne Cardone; son, Michael G.A. Zapata II; parents, Albert and Josie Arriola; brothers, Albert Arriola Jr, and Raymond Arriola; sisters, Rachel North, Ruth Silva, Pauline Lomas,Mary Ann Carbajal, and Dora Boyle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
