Rachell Dempsey Espinola

Rachell Dempsey Espinola, 71, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on August 17, 2025.

She was born on November 21, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, and grew up in Duncanville. As a young girl, she showed dogs and, at one point, was among the youngest handlers to take a show. Rachell later attended Navarro College, graduating with a degree in Accounting in 1974. That same year, on August 17, she married the love of her life, Michael A. Espinola. 

Together, Rachell and Michael built a life and raised two children, Tony and Shelley. As a devoted Navy wife, she supported her husband throughout his 20-year military career and beyond, exemplifying strength, love, and resilience. 

Rachell worked in accounting for over 50 years, sharing her expertise and dedication with several organizations. She retired in 2024 from Amish Oak in Texas, located in New Braunfels, Texas. Her work ethic and loyalty left a lasting impression on all who knew her. 

She is survived by her husband, Michael A. Espinola; son Tony Espinola and daughter-in-law April Espinola; daughter Shelley Bates and son-in-law Rick Bates; grandchildren Destiny Espinola, Gavin Espinola, Sara Bates, and Emma Bates; and her sister, Kimberly Dempsey. 

Rachell will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her quiet strength, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
