MSgt (Retired)USAF Phillip F Davis 83, born July 9, 1942, in Wilkes-Barre PA, has passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 8, 2026. He was the son of Philip and Josphine Davis, and in 1963 married the girl next door, Diana L Walters.
Phillip was a graduate from Kingston High School, Kingston PA class of 1960. He entered the United States Air Force shortly after graduating high school and retired after 20 years. He did a lot of traveling while in the Air Force; he spent time in NV, Okinawa, Vietnam, NC, NJ, NM, Korea, and SD before returning to PA.
He started at Wilkes College in 1980 and graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts. After graduating college, he started working for Human Services of Pennsylvania. He worked for them for 20 years before retiring and moving to Schertz, TX. Phillip loved gold panning, making jewelry, reading, traveling and spending time with his family. Family was very important to him.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Josphine Davis. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Diana L Davis; son Phillip (Cheryl) Davis and daughters Sandra (David) Thurchak and Lisa Davis; grandchildren Jeremy (Mara), Ashley (John) Egan, Renee, Jayden and Jason Davis, Cory (Ericka), Alexandria and Dannielle Thurchak and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Donald Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Monday July 6 ,2026 at 11:00 AM, with a Memorial Service to follow at Noon. Military burial will be at Fort Sam Houston at a later date.
