Peggy Reese

February 13, 1946 — October 22, 2020

Peggy Ann Reese, born on February 13, 1946, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away on October 22, 2020, in Schertz, Texas, at the age of 74. Peggy was born to John Calvin Bocox and Martha Lola Jones. She was an only child who lived a small-town life.

Peggy loved to read; her grandmother would often inspire her to read by saying she could not read the words for herself. She graduated from high school in Guthrie, Oklahoma then went on to college in Oklahoma State. After graduating, she went on to Texas A&M where she received her CPA to practice accounting. Peggy graduated with one of the top 10 highest scores in Texas. She worked at various companies in bookkeeping and accounting before she earned her CPA, then went on to make Findling, Milam & Pyle firm her home, where she practiced accounting from 1981. She became the second woman accountant at the firm. Barbara, a longtime friend, and colleague of Peggy’s was the first female accountant hired to the firm, the two of them together were trailblazers in the firm. When the two of them retired just a few years ago, the firm was then female dominated.  Peggy served as President of the Legion Auxiliary, Secretary of Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post 8315, and served on the Greater Randolph Area Veterans Council where she received outstanding achievement. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, the SA Chapter of Accountants, the Texas Society of Accountants, American Institute of Accountants, and throughout her adult life, she was very involved with several charitable donations. Other than reading, Peggy loved cross stitching, arts & crafting, horseback riding, decorating, and celebrating the holidays, and of course she was crazy about her “old man” AKA Mr. Handsome AKA “the fireman.” Her “old man” AKA the love of her life, is her husband, Cloise Weldon Reese. Peggy had the best dry humor ever. She was a woman who knew what she wanted, and she got what she wanted. She was a woman of grace, love, and integrity, the most nonjudgmental, understanding, beautiful woman we all knew.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, John Calvin Bocox and Martha Lola Jones; and grandparents, Charles Albert Bocox and Caroline E. Adams & Benjamin W. Jones and Elva White. Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Cloise Weldon Reese; children, Alexander Hale, Jeffree Hale and wife Amanda, and Megan Nooney and husband Michael; stepchildren, Marsh Ann Stanly, Debbie Roll and husband Mike, Sheila Ellliott, and Cathy Meloccaro and husband Gary; grandchildren, Justen, Jessie, and Emma Hale; step grandchildren, Britney Collins, Brandi Backus and Bridget Backus; and many more step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
