Peggy Moore

Peggy Sue Moore (DeMontel) of Hondo, Texas, age 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 21, 2023, surrounded by her family in Saint Hedwig, Texas.

She was the daughter of Oscar and Florence (Elder) DeMontel, born on December 24, 1948. She married her husband, Ronald W. Moore on November 7, 1969. They lived in Hondo for a few years and then moved to Schertz, Texas where he served in the US Air Force and where she was a beautician for many years. They had two daughters Stacey and Wendy. After the loss of her husband her whole world became her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Shirley Bauer and her husband, her sister Betty Hay and her husband, and her sister-in-law Dianne Hibbard and her husband. She is survived by her daughter Stacey and her husband Ronnie, her daughter Wendy and her husband Michael, her grandchildren Ashley, Brandon, Trace, Taylor and Kyle, her great grandchildren McKralea and Penelope. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Otis Moore and his wife Naomi, nieces and nephews Terry, Bryan, Tim, Kim, Angela, and Missy.

A viewing for Peggy will be held at Schertz Funeral Home Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023 at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM. There will be a graveside service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery – Shelter #3 -- later that day at 2:30 PM.
