Paul Dutchover Garcia Jr.

Paul D. (Pablito) Garcia Jr., 49, of Schertz, TX went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with cancer on June 4, 2024.

Paul was born on July 15, 1974, in Killeen, TX to parents Carolina Garza and Paul Garcia. As an Army brat, Paul grew up moving to different states and even overseas. He played baseball and basketball growing up, but disliked football, even telling his mom one time to tell the football coach that he was not crazy to not want to run around in the cold, so he was not playing! He attended Fort Sam Houston Elementary School and Cole High School, also at Fort Sam Houston, before moving to Germany, where he attended Frankfurt High School. Upon their return to the U.S., Paul attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, TX.

Paul worked over 28 years at Brooke Army Medical Center as a Telemetry Technician. Paul enjoyed playing music with his collection of guitars, which he learned to play on his own, his favorite genre being rock/metal and his favorite band being Metallica. During his free time, Paul loved spending time with his family and friends, but most of all cherished spending time with his nephew, Jordan.

Paul is survived by his mother Carolina Garza and stepfather Oscar Garza; father, Paul Garcia Sr.; sister Amy Lynn Garcia; nephew Jordan Paul Garcia and niece Aryana Carolina Garcia; and great-nephew Emiliano Blue Garcia.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, David and Annabel Garcia, and Pedro and Epifania Amaro.

A Memorial Service for Paul will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 4:00pm at Schertz Funeral Home.
