Odilia Avila Aguilar was born on January 7, 1944, and peacefully passed away on September 7, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. 

She was born in Del Rio, Texas to Teresa and Andres Avila. She lived there with her sister, then moved to San Antonio, Texas as a young adult to follow her dreams. Soon after relocating to San Antonio, Texas, Odilia, was hired to work at Kelly Air Force Base as a Civil Service employee. Her strong work ethic enabled her to pursue a lifelong career spanning over 30 years of service. Shortly after retirement, Odilia, embarked on a new career, with the City of San Antonio, as a Police Services Agent, where she worked alongside officers for the City of San Antonio Police Department. 

Odilia is survived by her husband, Martin Aguilar, daughters, Annette Aguilar, and Odilia Campbell, grandchildren, Christopher, Madalynn, and Kyle Campbell, her sister, Mary Helen Rodriguez, and nephews, Mario, Michael, and Mark Rodriguez. She was a generous and loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and aunt to her family. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, from 5-8 P. M. at Schertz Funeral Home, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 22, at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Graveside Service will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 P.M.
