Nolan Oakley

Nolan A. Oakley (Butch) was born December 5, 1942 to Valton A. and Mary Kitty Oakley in Atascosa, Texas, and passed from this life on November 27, 2022 in San Antonio Texas at the age of 79.

He grew up in Lytle, Texas. Butch attended Lytle High School where he met Betty Pulis during his senior year. After he graduated he married Betty in Seminole Texas, on July 16, 1962. Shortly after graduating he began working for Universal Form Top in San Antonio Texas and after several years of hard work, he opened a cabinet shop in his garage, and then leased a larger location on main street. The business continued its success as it transitioned from cabinets to countertops requiring more space. Butch and his partner Fred Mosley moved Cabinet Creations Inc. to 14421 Main St. Lytle. Where he worked until he retired. While meeting the demands of family and a business Butch also served his community as a School Board Member and served as an Elder at his church.

Upon retiring Butch and Betty bought a 160-acre ranch in Ratliff City Oklahoma. Where they enjoyed country life, raising cattle, working with horses, shooting guns and driving his John Deere Tractor. After several years of breaking ice and feeding in the cold weather they sold the ranch and moved to Sulphur OK.

Butch loved to hunt, ride motorcycles, play golf, collect cars and he dearly loved his pets.

He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Oakley his parents Valton and Kitty Oakley, his twin brother Rolan Oakley.

He is survived by daughter Kimberley Hulsey (Jack); his son Nolan (Chris) Oakley (Summer); grandchildren Nathan K. Hulsey (Amy); Trenton G. Hulsey; Nolan R. Hulsey (Ashlee); great grandchildren: Liam, Finn, Brailey, and James.

The Funeral Service for Nolan Oakley will be held at Woodlake Baptist Church (6980 Woodlake Club Drive, San Antonio, TX, 78244) on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral procession to San Fernando #3 Cemetery for the Graveside Service.
