Nilda Rodriguez

October 13, 1952 — September 8, 2025

Universal City

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nilda Rodriguez, a loving mother, grandmother, and dedicated wife, who left this world peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Universal City, Texas. She was born on October 13, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to her cherished parents, Gonzalo and Lola Roger.

Nilda's life was one of profound devotion and joy. In 1974, she married the love of her life, Juan Rodriguez. Together, they built a beautiful family, nurturing their children and instilling in them the values of love, loyalty, and the importance of family. Nilda was a proud military spouse for over 25 years, supporting her husband through his service, while also shining brightly in her own pursuits.

Nilda was a beacon of happiness and carefree spirit, always radiating warmth and love to those around her. She had a profound appreciation for her Puerto Rican heritage, which she celebrated through her passion for history, music, and dance. Her love for life was evident in her hobbies; she enjoyed painting, traveling, and sharing joyous moments with her family. Nilda’s laughter and zest for life will be sorely missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Nilda's legacy lives on through her children, Carmen, Juan, Kassandra, Angelica, Alex, and Michelle, and her beloved grandchildren, Adalisa, Zachary, and Cameron. She is also survived by her siblings, Eva and Sammy, who will carry forward her spirit of love and joy.

Nilda was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Juan, and her cherished daughter, Veronica. Their absence leaves a void that will be felt deeply by all who loved her, but Nilda's memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Her battle with complications from Parkinson's disease was fought with grace and dignity, and she became an inspiration to many, demonstrating the true meaning of resilience and strength.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Nilda's beautiful life will be held on November 3, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. A cemetery service will follow at Fort Sam Federal Cemetery at 1:45 PM at Shelter 5.

As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember Nilda as the loving, loyal, and carefree spirit she was. Her legacy of love, family, and joy will continue to guide us in the days to come. May she rest in peace, enveloped in the love she so generously shared with the world.
