MSgt. Donald R. McBride, U.S. Air Force, Retired, went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2008 at the age of 42. He is survived by his loving wife, Melinda McBride of Schertz; daughters, Meghan McBride & Brittany Bearden; sons, Justin Challut & Joshua Bearden; sisters, Debra McNair & husband, Durward and Diane St. John & husband, Jimmy Consford; brothers, Daryl Kramer & wife, Cindy and Richard McBride. MSgt. McBride retired from the U.S. Air Force after proudly serving his Country for 20 years. His awards and decorations include: the Airmans Medal , Meritorious Service Medal with 1 bronze oak leaf cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal with 3 bronze oak leaf clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 4 bronze oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 1 silver oak leaf cluster, Air Force Recognition Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with 1 bronze star, Armed Forces Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 4 bronze oak leaf clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon with 2 bronze oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Training Ribbon. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Schertz Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bryan Cash officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
