Mildred Cooper

Mildred Irene (Morgan) Cooper, born on July 11, 1934, passed away in Schertz, TX on June 19, 2020 at the age of 85. Millie was born in Georgiana, AL and grew up in Florala, AL. She met LaRue Cooper when his uncle’s construction company came to Florala to install their first telephone lines. Millie and LaRue were married in Florala’s Methodist church on February 8, 1953 and were together for 52 years prior to his death in 2005.

They first lived in Schertz in 1965 when the Air Force assigned LaRue to Randolph AFB. After years of traveling the Air Force sent LaRue back to Randolph in 1972. Millie and LaRue knew Schertz was home for them, so they stayed for their retirement years. They joined the Schertz United Methodist Church where they were both were active members.

Millie is survived by: sons, Glynn Alan Cooper and wife Chana, Dayton, OH, Paul Michael Cooper, Schertz, TX, Gary Charles Cooper and wife Stephanie, Schertz, TX; daughter-in-law, Dianna Lynn Breedlove and husband Greg, Schertz, TX; grandchildren, Nicholas Cooper and wife Valerie, Stephanie Cooper and fiancé Fabrice Baumgarten, Adam Priestle and wife Mariah, Samantha Priestle, Wendy Priestle and significant other Michael Parks, and great-grandson Leo Priestle.

Millie’s children will plan a Celebration of Life at a later date when it is safe for group gatherings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Schertz United Methodist Church.
