Michael Stephen Terry
February 5, 1969 – June 20, 2025
Michael Stephen Terry, age 56, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Cibolo, Texas. A devoted husband, loving son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend, Mike lived a life full of passion, curiosity, laughter and unwavering love for those closest to him. At the center of it all was his steadfast faith in God, which guided his heart, his choices, and the way he loved others.
Born in Alvin, Texas, Mike grew up in Lake Jackson and graduated from Brazoswood High School. He continued his education at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, where he deepened his lifelong love of learning. Mike proudly served in the United States Army from 1991 to 1999, embodying the values of honor, dedication, and service.
Mike had a mind built for patterns and puzzles — a mathematician at heart. He was voraciously curious, always seeking to understand the world around him more deeply. Whether exploring a new idea or simply contemplating the beauty of nature, he was always learning. Mike’s spirit was defined by his enthusiasm for life. He had a deep passion for music, which filled the soundtrack of his life and brought him endless joy. He loved to travel and experience new places, ride his Harley, and spend time outdoors, a true lover of nature. Whether floating the river or sharing a laugh around a firepit, Mike made every moment an occasion to be remembered. He was also a master of backyard grilling and a believer in celebrating life at every opportunity. His great sense of humor, easygoing charm, and loyalty made him someone people simply loved being around.
More than anything, Mike was a man of faith. His love for God was sincere, personal, and ever-present. It shaped the way he loved his wife, Jennifer Terry, and his family. He gave generously to others and trusted God through every high and low. Mike knew where his peace came from, and he shared that light with everyone he met.
Mike had a deep, abiding love for his wife, Jennifer Terry, and his family. He is survived by Jennifer, his beloved wife and best friend; his mother, Mary Kelly; his mother-in-law, Marietta Flores; his sister, Tonya Hammond; his brother, Adam Kelly; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Andrea Kelly; his sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Nolan Dishongh; his brother-in-law, Jeff Flores; his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Gantang; his nephew, Alex Hammond; his 3 fur babies, Woobie, Barney and Rocket, and many other extended family members and friends whose lives were brighter because of him.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 5:00 p.m. at Las Fontanas, where stories, music, and memories will be shared in honor of a man who never did anything halfway. As Mike would say: “Go big or go home.”
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
