Obituary

Michael B. Connolly passed away peacefully at his home in Garden Ridge, Texas on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 69.

It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness, that we honor the passing of Michael (Mike) Connolly. Mike was raised as a military brat and moved all over the country and the world, as he was growing up. He was an ice-skating rink guard, wrestled and played soccer in high school, and later coached his son in soccer.

He graduated from Frankfurt American High School in Germany, and joined the Navy soon thereafter, spending time on the USS Guadalcanal carrier. Once honorably discharged from the Navy, Mike received degrees from San Marcos University and San Antonio College. He pursued a 45-year career with the Civil Service, Finalizing it as Deputy Director of Advanced Programs with the 16th Air Force. He always made sure that "his people" were taken care of. Mike was very patriotic and defended the safety of our country most of his life. He had just retired in September 2025, with plans to travel with his family.

Mike was a practitioner of and greatly enjoyed Pekiti Tirsia Kali. He volunteered his time at NIOSA in San Antonio for many decades, as well as volunteering with the Garden ridge Police Academy Alumni Association and the Comal County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the New Braunfels Community Emergency Response Team, and Search and Rescue, and trained by EMS in life support.

Above all, Mike was a faithful husband, devoted friend, father and grandfather. His family close friends meant the world to him, and spending time with them was always a priority. Mike was known for his dry sense of humor and loved a good joke.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lisa A Connolly; Son, Kristopher Connolly; Stepchild, Eris Dresner; Grandchildren: Kaelin Connolly, Leo Connolly, Evangeline Connolly; Sister: Maureen Connolly Crawford, and cats: Joanie and Chachi. He is preceded in death by his parents Marian Defalco Connolly and Raymond Connolly

A celebration of life is set for Saturday July 18, 2026, from 2-7 pm at the Garden Ridge Community Center.
