Mary Vickers

Mary Charline (Tommye) Vickers, 93, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on November 12, 2020. She was born on August 28, 1927 in Gonzales County, Texas to Jewel Cooper Terrell and Leslie Terrell. She married Cecil Vickers on August 20, 1945. They enjoyed 66 years together until his death in 2012.

Although, she worked at various jobs over the years. Tommye was a homemaker at heart. She was an excellent seamstress and made beautiful clothing. She also enjoyed embroidery, cross-stitching and quilting.

She is survived by her daughters Tempie Callaway (Perry) and Connie Low; her grandchildren Tara Callaway (Lori), Sonya Mollicone (Marc) and Melissa Johnson; her great grandchildren, Devon Johnson, Mitchell Mollicone, Mason Mollicone and Kaylee Callaway. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Vickers, her grandson Leslie Alan Low and son-in-law, Clifton Junus Low and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 27 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. There will be a short viewing at Schertz Funeral Home, Schertz, Texas from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. before the service at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery.

We would like to thank the staff at Rio Terra Assisted Living in New Braunfels and Encompass Hospice for her care. We would especially like to thank Babette, her hospice nurse, for her kindness and thoughtfulness.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Elder Vance Rodgers 1100 Woodlawn St. Lockhart, Texas 78644 of Boysville, www.boysvilletexas.org, or an organization of your choice.
